I have been away for too long. Things have just been very busy and hectic at work at the Institute for Astronomy, building my Big Kahuna Meteorites business, and at home. Sorry for my absence at this site, but I hope to kickstart the activity here because our Eighth Annual AstroDay Festival that will be held on Saturday, May 1st from 10 am to 4 pm at the Prince Kuhio Plaza in Hilo, Hawaii. Okay, got my shameless plug out of the way. I hope most of you had an opportunity to step outside and have a gander at this year's Geminid meteor shower (taking place overhead in the sky near you). I received an email from astro-friend Wally Pacholka, who is an astrophotographer extraordinaire. He has many of his images posted online, and available in prints for sale on his website http://AstroPics.com. In his email, Wally had attached perhaps one of the most brilliant Geminid fireballs I have seen, both pictorially and in person.
