UH IfA and UHH Physics & Astronomy Cosponsored AstroTalk - New Moons of Giant Planets
David Jewitt, planetary astronomer with the University of Hawaii Institute for Astronomy (IfA) kicked off a new astronomy lecture series in Hilo called AstroTalk. Jewitt talked about the discovery by UH astronomers of 60 moons of the giant planets from telescopes on Mauna Kea in the past 5 years, and what they can tell us about planet formation and the early solar system. He also presented the new results and relate them to recent data from the Cassini spacecraft at Saturn. A Video Archive is available for Windows XP computers
