Hawaiian Starlight: Capturing the True Colors of the Universe with the CFHT

Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope's Hawaiian Starlight aims at showcasing the technical and scientific excellence of the telescope through the use of stunning astronomical true color images obtained with its wide-field imagers. About 60 people came out on Friday, December 10th to hear Jean-Charles talk about the instrumentation (site, telescope, optics, and giant digital cameras), the image creation process, showing the long and tedious process to go from the raw data gathered at the telescope to the final images as they appeared in the various forms CFHT has explored with Edizioni Scientifiche Coelum (web, wall calendars, posters) to reach out to the large public.
