Einstein at the Beach:
Pondering the Great Questions of the Universe While Standing in Your Bathing Suit
John Dvorak, UH Institute for Astronomy
This year marks the 100th anniversary of Einstein's "miraculous year", when he transformed our view of the universe. It was the start of his theory of relativity and publication of his famous equation, E=MC**2. Later he astounded the world when he showed that space could be distorted and that light beams could bend. His ideas are still changing how we see the universe, revealing what happens deep inside black holes and proving the existence of parallel universes. Come celebrate his legacy with John Dvorak of the Institute for Astronomy, who will show that it is not only possible, but practical to travel through time.
