Hawaiian Family AfFair 2007
March 10, 2007 • UH Hilo Campus Center Plaza

The sixteenth annual Hawaiian Family AfFair was held under sunny skies on the University of Hawaii at Hilo Campus Center Plaza. The Institute for Astronomy (IfA) was among dozens of participants that offered food, arts and crafts, cultural activites and information. The IfA presented a display panel of astronomical images and posters of the Mauna Kea ohana (group photo of many of the staff of Mauna Kea observatories), flyers for
upcoming events and an infrared camera. Community Outreach Assistant Kenyan Beals was accompanied by UHH astronomy students Heather Kaluna, Josh WIlliams and Lisa Perez-Gonzales, who were quite skillful at engaging the youngsters (and parents) in conversations about astronomy and space science.
