The AstroDay Institute is broadening its mission to bring science to Hawaii Island students in creative and interesting ways. Currently, we are exploring the area of robotics and how the technology can be used to teach youngsters math and science, particularly those youngsters who do not respond to traditional classroom educational methodologies. In the meantime, Gary is immersed in robotics with the construction of a Robonova-1 robot that will be used in AstroDay Institute outreach including AstroDay 2K6 and the Hilo Youth Robotics summer enrichment camp.
