Na Pua No`eau Super High Day

The Na Pua No`eau Hawaiian Gifted and Talented agency held its Super High Day on Tuesday, April 25th at the University of Hawaii at Hilo campus. Super High Day is part of Project Ho`omau that serves at-risk 11-12 graders of Native Hawaiian ancestry by helping them enter the University system and to increase their chance of earning college degrees. Super High Day consists of several strands including Na Kilo Hoku (exploration of navigation and stargazing technologies. Paul Coleman of the UH Institute for Astronomy, Kalepa Baybayan - captain of the Hokualakai and John Hamilton, instructor of astronomy at UH Hilo gave presentations to the students in the Na Kilo Hoku strand. |
