UH Day at the State Capitol is a biennial celebration of the University of Hawai‘i system held at the Hawai‘i State Capitol building. Faculty, staff and students from all 10 campuses across the state gather to showcase the excellence and diversity of the university's offerings. Representing the UH Institute for Astronomy were Director Rolf Kudritzki, Associate Director of External Affairs Mike Maberry (who showcased live remote observations of Jupiter from the NASA Infrared Telescope Facility (IRTF) atop Mauna Kea), Gary Fujihara and Callie McNew from Science Education and Public Outreach (SEPO), who featured a robotics poster.
